Five Star Franchising has announced the acquisition of Mosquito Shield, a mosquito and tick control company. Five Star has made a habit of acquiring franchise brands, and this marks its eighth acquisition since June 2021 and provides the group with a smooth entry point to an attractive set of services.
Mosquito Shield is based in Attleboro, Massachusetts and has over 300 franchisees across 27 states. The brand has addressed residential mosquito and tick problems in a cost-effective manner and proprietary products.
“Five Star’s capabilities, management team, and vision made them a natural fit as a partner to Mosquito Shield,” said Briggs.
The founder, David Briggs, will stay on as an adviser to Mosquito Shield and two long-time team members, Michael Moorhouse and Brad Maher will be promoted to brand president, and vice president, respectively.
“We look forward to leveraging Five Star’s extensive development and operational capabilities to continue to aggressively expand our franchise system while also delivering best-in-class support to our franchisees,” said Moorhouse
“We are thrilled to partner with David, Michael, Brad and their team as they join the Five Star family of brands,” said Scott Abbott, CEO of Five Star Franchising.
“In the last 20 years, Mosquito Shield has positioned itself as the leader in pest control franchising. Their unique model and proprietary products deliver a superior service experience for customers looking to manage the risks associated with mosquitos and other pests. Their growth is directly attributable to their commitment to excellence. We are very excited to announce our partnership and look forward to growing together.”
