PIRTEK U.S.A. has announced the appointment of Mike McCarthy as its new chief operating officer (COO) effective 1 January, 2022. McCarthy was the owner and operator of PIRTEK Norcross, PIRTEK Dobbins, and PIRTEK Alpharetta in the Metro Atlanta region with his wife Janice from 2004 to 2020. He later served the brand as a franchise support consultant.
He will be reporting to PIRTEK U.S.A. president and CEO, Kim Gubera. McCarthy’s job will be to oversee the brand’s high quality operational standards and develop leadership teams that can pro-actively deal with any issues across the entire franchise network. Prior to his time as a PIRTEK franchisee, McCarthy was the vice president and general manager of Siemens AG, leading its industrial services division. He also held a number of senior roles at General Electric (G.E.).
“Mike’s engineering background and extensive operations experience is the perfect fit for PIRTEK USA’s growth strategy. His first-hand knowledge of the PIRTEK model, processes, and services makes him uniquely positioned to understand the needs of our franchise owners and their teams,” said Gubera.
“With 14 per cent unit growth and several new franchise signings in 2021, Mike, and his team of support professionals, will ensure our new franchisees expanding into the U.S. and Canada are set up for long-term success with a strong foundation based on our franchise model. We are excited to have him as part of our senior management team.”
The brand has signed a number of new franchise agreements during 2021, and expanded into Iowa and Kentucky for the first time. PIRTEK U.S.A. grew by 14 units across the entire year.
“I’m excited to join PIRTEK U.S.A. in this role as we expand locations into new territories and build up corporate infrastructure to support new entrepreneurs joining the franchise network,” said McCarthy.
“I look forward to helping our current and future PIRTEK owners achieve the full potential of their businesses while they deliver outstanding experiences and value to our customers consistent with our brand standards.”
