SoCal’s made-to-order nitrogen ice cream concept Cauldron Ice Cream is to establish outlets in Canada’s Greater Toronto area. This follows the inking of a multi-unit deal with Serena Sun and Alex Wang, who aim to open their first location this summer, in downtown Toronto or Mississauga.
Both experienced franchises, Sun and Wang own Chinese restaurants in Canada and also in China, and split their time between Toronto and Orange County, where they first encountered Cauldron Ice Cream, in Santa Ana.
“Every time we’re in Orange County, we always make a point to stop by Cauldron to get our ice cream fix,” said Sun. “When we were in Toronto, we noticed a gap in the market for innovative, high-quality ice cream like Cauldron’s. The concept is fun, fresh, and most importantly, delicious, and we wholeheartedly believe that it will be a hit in the Toronto community.”
The Toronto deal means that Cauldron, which was founded in 2015 by Terence Lioe and Desiree Lee will be establishing is first locations outside of California, where it now operates in several SoCal cities and intends opening five locations in Santa Clara County in 2018. .
