This successful theater school welcomes approaches from dynamic master franchisees

Founded in 2000 by Denise Hutton-Gosney, Razzamataz Theatre Schools was created with a simple dream, to make performing arts available to all young people no matter their background or circumstances.

Razzamataz gives children all over the UK a chance to attend classes taught by experienced performers, who can give them the perfect introduction to the performing arts. To do this, Razz ensures classes are affordable, that the curriculum is fun and funky, and attending classes is as easy as possible. Over the years the company has created a business system that helps keep costs down and student numbers up, bringing classes to all sizes of towns as well as the larger cities.

With her own school thriving, Denise decided to grow the business through franchising in 2007. Later that same year, an impressive pitch on the BBC’s Dragons’ Den TV program landed Denise a high-profile partner and investor in the Multi-Millionaire health club entrepreneur, Duncan Bannatyne. The business really took off and today Razzamataz has a UK franchise network of 40-part-time theatre schools – many with 6 figure turnovers.

Students receive exceptional training in dance, drama and singing together with exciting opportunities to perform. Classes cover everything from traditional West End and Broadway musicals through to street dance and pop singing.

Classes for children that focus on sports, fitness, new skills and the arts are very popular all over the world, and Razzamataz believes that with its training and support, suitable Master Franchisees and Area / Country Developers will be able to replicate the incredible success it has enjoyed in the UK.

Business model

Razzamataz has been one of the UK’s leading part time theatre schools for 18 years, with a business model and bespoke management systems that will allow a Master Franchise partner or Area / Country Developer to quickly launch and develop the brand in their own country.

They have already developed a nationally recognised brand and a great reputation in both the education and franchise industry sectors. In fact, thanks to successful partnerships with international holiday operators the Razzamataz brand has already been introduced in: Mexico; Dominican Republic; Cyprus, Greece; Egypt, Tunisia; Spain; Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Portugal and France.

Denise said ‘The company’s business processes and franchise systems have been developed, refined and proven over 18 years and will be easily transferable to other countries. Given that we are an accredited member of the British Franchise Association and have been consistently rated a 5 Star Franchise by the UK’s Best Franchise Awards, I think our Master Franchise and Area / Country Developer concept should be an extremely attractive franchise proposition for the right international business partner.”

Denise feels that the opportunity will suit either an experienced master franchisee or area/country developer who has the resources and infrastructure to roll the brand out quickly, or an individual or business already operating in the education, sports, leisure or children’s activity sector where Razzamataz would be a logical addition to their portfolio.

As a Master Franchisee, you must firstly operate your own pilot franchise within your country or region and, upon successful operation of this pilot, you have the ability to operate, sell to others and develop multiple franchises within the dedicated country or region. You will be required to have sufficient working capital to fund the initial Master Franchise fee, the set up of your own pilot operation, as well as the on-going resource required to develop a head office, training and support operation to support your network of franchises within their specified territory.

Razzamataz is offering Area or Country Developer and Master Franchises to the best qualified candidates in each operating region. Successful territories will be those with a high density of children aged between 2-18, a population of around 100,000 people and a high number of kindergarten and primary schools.
