The fitness brand has reopened seven locations in Texas and one in Florida, implementing new social distancing guidelines and enhanced cleaning procedures.
Blink Fitness reopened its Jacksonville, Florida and its Beach Street, Bedford, Keller, North Richland Hills, Hobby, Springbranch, and Westchase Texas gyms on Friday, in accordance with local and state reopening guidelines
The gyms have open with revised hours to ensure that thorough cleaning and disinfecting procedures can take place overnight.
The reopened Texas and Florida clubs will be operating at 25 per cent and 50 per cent capacity respectively, with both operating a first-come, first-served approach.
Blink Fitness also recommends that members wear masks when entering the gym and when they are within six feet from another person, as well as “gloves that fully cover the area from the wrist to the fingertips while in the gym”.
All employees will be wearing masks and gloves at all times. Staff will be taking the temperatures of members and employees as they enter the gym. Per local guidelines, any member or employee with a temperature of 100°F or higher will not be given access to the gym.
When the Texas and Jacksonville gyms reopen, all memberships will be unfrozen, and billing will resume on a normal schedule. For those members that are uncomfortable with returning to the gym, the brand is also them the option to refreeze their membership for an additional 30 days at no cost.
