81 per cent believe that a ‘return to normal’ only comes with vaccines.
According to a survey conducted by The Harris Poll, commissioned by Express Employment Professionals, 70 per cent of Canadian decision-makers believe that proof of vaccination against COVID-19 – either via a vaccine ID or passport – will be required in the near future for employees returning to the workplace.
Additionally, 81 per cent of the 506 Canadian respondents believe that a true return to normal, without any restrictions, can only be achieved through increased vaccination.
“There is light at the end of the tunnel, and it is great to see companies planning to ramp up hiring and return employees to work,” said Bill Stoller, CEO of Express Employment Professionals. “But in order for this to happen smoothly, decisions about what post-COVID workplaces will require to return to normal need to be made and clear communication about what will be expected of employees should happen as soon as possible.”
Further findings indicated that 59 per cent of employees would be more likely to get a COVID-19 vaccine if employers provided incentives to do so, though 63 per cent of companies don’t believe it is their responsibility to ensure staff get the vaccine.
