The dog grooming franchisor continues its national expansion plans.
Scenthound has signed a 20-unit development deal with a new franchisee, Dean DeGood, which will bring the emerging dog grooming business to Virginia and Maryland.
With the signing of this deal, Scenthound’s franchise total now sits at 80 units sold across nine states, with 16 franchise partners. The brand has plans to sell 100 units and open around 30 new sites in 2021.
“Both my professional and personal life is completely centered around dogs and improving their lives,” said DeGood. “After learning about Scenthound, I became a stronger believer in their concept and the impact they make in both pet and their owners’ lives. I am excited to continue making a meaningful difference in dog communities in Virginia and Maryland, as Scenthound has been able to do across the nation.”
Before joining Scenthound, DeGood owned and operated Doggywalker.com, a dog walking and pet sitting service in Virginia with more than 85 employees and 70,000 annual pet visits. He currently serves on the board of directors for Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, a regional leader in community-focused animal welfare.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dean to Scenthound, along with his animal-centric background, which will serve him well as a Scenthound franchise partner,” said Tim Vogel, CEO of Scenthound. “Educating pet parents plays a critical role in our goal of removing barriers so that people can love and connect with their dogs every day. Dean’s background, passion and knowledge will be very valuable in helping us achieve our mission of keeping dogs clean and healthy throughout the Maryland/Virginia region.”
