Over 50% of franchise revenue in Australia is now derived from multi-unit operations, according to research carried out by the Franchise Relationships Institute. This trend is predicted to increase.

FRI founder Greg Nathan says “Because many franchisors are experiencing a softening of new franchisee inquiries, it makes sense that they expand their footprint using existing franchisees they already know, and who know them.

“Also, the maturing of the franchising sector means there are many highly experienced franchisees needing a new challenge, and growing their existing operations into multiple businesses is a great way to reinvent themselves.”

In order to explore the best ways of exploring and promoting this model ,The FRI is staging a Multi-Unit Summit summit in Melbourne on Thursday August 24.
