The world’s largest fitness provider has bagged itself ultimate bragging rights, as it hits a new milestone.
Anytime Fitness has made history, as the omnipresent, health-focused brand now operates on all seven continents.
As part of a partnership with Antarctica21, an Anytime Fitness gym is now available to passengers of the Magellan Explorer, which left shores on its first voyage on November 28. The ship set off from Chile to Antarctica, and with its maiden voyage, took Anytime Fitness to even loftier heights.
“We’re truly taking our mission, ‘To improve the self-esteem of the world,’ to another level,” said Chuck Runyon, CEO and co-founder of Anytime Fitness. “Being the only franchise to operate on all seven continents and land a gym on the coldest, windiest, driest region of the world was no easy feat but was a necessary step in contributing to our mission. Having the opportunity to be the featured gym on the one-of-a-kind Magellan Explorer was the perfect way to bring health and wellness to the South Pole.”
Like all Anytime Fitness locations, this new Antarctica gym is equipped with all the equipment that health lovers need to stay in their best shape. Top-of-the-line cardio and strength-training equipment from Life Fitness is on offer, as well as a wide array of free weights. And, naturally, the new gym is available to guests of the Magellan Explorer 24 hours a day.
“Anytime Fitness has come a long way since our first gym opened in Cambridge, Minnesota in 2002,” said Runyon. “The fact that Dave [Mortensen] and I had the opportunity to experience this historic milestone first-hand is almost surreal. But, at more than 4,500 locations on all continents, we continue to push each other to think of even more ways to make health and wellness available to everyone around the globe.”
