The soft pretzel franchisor has partnered with a leading Taiwanese subsidiary.
Auntie Anne’s, a hand-rolled soft pretzel franchisor with locations in more than 25 countries, has partnered with IndulgeEAT LTD to open 27 locations throughout major locations in Taiwan. The first of these, located in Taipei, opened on November 11.
IndulgeEAT is a subsidiary of one of the largest sports fashion retailers in Taiwan, and its long history in retail, partnered with its multi-unit operator experience, made it the perfect partner to build and expand freestanding, in-line, streetside, and non-traditional Auntie Anne’s locations throughout the country. Under the agreement, all 27 Taiwanese location will open within five years.
“As we continue to see a great deal of success in Asian markets like South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, we firmly believe expanding the Auntie Anne’s brand into the Taiwan market is the natural next step,’’ said Beto Guajardo, president of FOCUS Brands International, the parent company of Auntie Anne’s. “IndulgeEAT LTD shares our passion and excitement and is the perfect partner to grow Auntie Anne’s in that market. Western concepts continue to excel in this part of the world, and we believe our pretzels will quickly win over the hearts of the Taiwanese.”
The new Taiwanese locations will feature Auntie Anne’s staple offering, including soft pretzels, pretzel nuggets, and pretzel dogs, and will also stock Almond Cream Cheese Stix; a favorite across Asian Auntie Anne’s locations.
