Barrecore ramps up for international franchising

This rapidly-growing boutique fitness studio has big franchising plans

This rapidly-growing boutique fitness studio has big franchising plans.

Founded in London in 2011, Barrecore has since carved out a successful niche in the boutique fitness scene. The brand provides a selection of classes, which includes its BarreSIGNATURE, which is its original and most famous offering. Using a combination of bodyweight resistance, light props, work at the barre and high repetitions, workouts are designed to deliver results quickly and efficiently.

Following the success of the 13 U.K.-based Barrecore studios (which includes two successful franchises in Manchester), the boutique brand is now extending its appealing offering to entrepreneurs far and wide – both in the U.K., and internationally. Ten of the current Barrecore locations are situated in London, in affluent areas such as Chelsea, Wimbledon Village, and Kensington.

“As a franchisee, you will operate your own business entirely but also get all the support we have to give,” Niki Rein, celebrity trainer, and founder and CEO of Barrecore. “From our 13 studios, we have a model that works, and we’re excited to share all our learnings and processes with our network of franchisees. Your success is our success.”

The U.K.’s fitness club market is set to grow between four and six per cent over the next five years, and low impact, high intensity exercise methods are more popular than ever. Conversely, HIIT workouts saw a six per cent drop in popularity in 2018.

Barrecore’s franchise agreement allows one operator per defined geographic area, so the risk of saturation is quelled. Agreements are to be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, and franchisees will have access to the wider Barrecore team via a digital collaboration program.

“With Barrecore, you have access to a fitness concept that is relatively easy and inexpensive to launch,” continues Rein. “This is because there is no requirement for expensive fitness equipment. Also, our teachers are known as some of the best in the industry and, as a franchisee, you and your team will have access to a 200-hour extensive teacher training that will equip you to safely and effectively deliver our unique Barrecore Method.”
