Big Blue Swim School has announced its plans to start its new wave of expansion in California, aiming to build nearly 70 schools within five years.
It recently signed deals to open Big Blue Swim School locations in Huntington Beach and Tustin. The brand signed with franchise partner L5 Swim, who have further plans to open 20 locations across California, initially focusing on Orange County and Los Angeles County. L5 plan to construct 43 swim schools across the country.
“California is the perfect home for us,” said Chris Kenny, chairman of the board of L5 Swim.
“With the number of pools and beaches in the state, parents in California know the importance of water safety. Unfortunately, the reality is that drowning is the leading cause of death for toddlers one-to-four years old in California. Our mission is to show kids they can do anything by unlocking their full potential in the water, and we are looking forward to making a difference in the lives of families across California.”
Big Blue also signed a multi-unit franchise agreement to open eight locations across San Diego with Blue Marlin Ventures LLC, and another three-unit deal with local Bay Area residents, Sean Alexis and Aldona Clottey. The brand will eventually expand into San Jose and Sacramento.
