The international Korean double-fried chicken franchise has hit a significant milestone.
Bonchon, known for its signature double-fried Korean chicken, recently celebrated the opening of its 100th U.S. location in Pleasanton, California.
As well as America, the brand currently operates in several Asian markets including Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. 2019 was planned to be a big year for Bonchon, and the brand not only delivered on its goals; it surpassed them, with the addition of 18 new U.S. locations, signifying a 20 per cent growth rate in the country.
“Bonchon’s U.S. debut was on the east coast, so it seems only fitting that we celebrate our one hundredth store milestone on the west coast, reflecting the growth of our brand and the success of our franchise partners,” said Flynn Dekker, CEO. “Bonchon’s authentic Korean take on fried chicken has resonated with consumers both domestically and internationally. We are excited to continue to share our delicious version of comfort food with new communities across the U.S. and around the world, as we continue our rapid expansion.”
2020 is planned to be another significant year for Bonchon, as the franchise has already opened its first new restaurant of the new year. This puts it well on its way to reach its five-year goal of 500 domestic restaurants and 1,000 total restaurants around the world.
Currently, the brand has over 350 locations open worldwide, and is seeking new franchise partners in all markets.
