British Swim School has announced the opening of its newest franchise location in Colorado, situated in Colorado Springs. The owners of this location are husband-and-wife Jill and Scott Douglas. The Douglases are parents of three children and saw a need for the concept in their area.
“Drowning deaths in the state recently hit a record high, so we are thrilled to bring such an important and essential resource to the Colorado Springs area,” said Jill, co-owner of British Swim School Colorado Springs.
“We have the incredible opportunity to prevent drowning and save lives, not only for children but for adults too.”
The brand teaches all age groups, from children to adults. It focuses on water acclimation, safety and survival skills, and swim stroke development. Research has shown that participation in formal swimming programs reduces the risk of drowning by 88 per cent among children who are at the highest risk for drowning.

The Douglases have joined a system with more than 215 British Swim School locations in operation across the U.S. and Canada.
