The winner received a full franchise development project worth over $150,000.
Launched late last year, DC Strategy’s Launch Your Franchise competition encouraged entrants to showcase their industry-leading brand to be in with the chance of receiving prizes worth up to $150,000 – including a comprehensive franchise development program, and six months of expert lead generation.
Four finalists were announced earlier this month, but The Fish Factory, a Brisbane-based bistro, came out on top and took home the first-place prize at this year’s Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo.

Second place went to Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers, which won a prize valued at over $75,000 comprised of a feasibility program, discounted franchise development program, and discounted lead generation.
Third place was too close to call, so the judging panel announced a tied victory with The Peanut Butter Bar and The Pizza Boys both receiving prizes valued at more than $25,000 each.
This year’s judges included Franchise Council of Australia chair Brendan Green, Poolwerx founder John O’Brien, Just Cuts GM Amber Manning, Motto Motto’s COO Matt Fickling, William Edwards from Edwards Global Services, Inside Franchise Business executive editor Sarah Stowe, and DC Strategy founder and chairman Rod Young.
