The premium slow-smoked meats franchisor has set its sights on the Eurasian market.
Dickey’s Barbeque Pit is a meat-centric franchising phenomenon; both in the States, and with its several international sites. The 79-year-old barbeque specialist will soon add its fifth overseas market to its portfolio, as Tbilisi, the capital of the Republic of Georgia, gears up for a grand opening.
A deal was made between Dickey’s and the DS Group back in November 2019, which will see Texas barbeque added to the group’s craveable repertoire.
“Dickey’s Barbeque Pit, like Georgia, is rich with tradition and a true, culturally-authentic experience,” said Tibua Shalva, owner of the DS Group. “I’m proud to be the chosen partner to represent this iconic American brand as it expands to Eurasia.”
Dickey’s currently operates over 500 restaurants in the States, and has sites either open or in development in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Brazil, and Egypt. Its international success helped the brand to win the Global Franchise Award 2019 for the Best Food & Drink Franchise, as well as a whole host of other accolades.
“As Dickey’s takes its next global leap to the Republic of Georgia, we are proud to share this experience with such a terrific partner,” said Jim Perkins, president of international development. “I look forward to working with Tibua Shalva and introducing Dickey’s slow-smoked barbeque to the citizens of Georgia.”
