Duck Donuts has announced the opening of its newest location, and its first in Canada. The donut brand opened the store in Burlington, Ontario, at 5010 Pinedale Avenue in Appleby Village. Duck Donuts signed with local, longtime residents, Diana and Stuart Reid. The couple signed a multi-unit franchise agreement in 2021, which should see them opening three locations over the next four years.
CEO Betsy Hamm and chief development officer Eric Lavender joined the franchisees for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on 26 May.
“We are delighted to be officially opening and introducing our warm, delicious and made-to-order donuts to our neighbors to the north,” said Betsy Hamm, CEO of Duck Donuts.
“We are confident this first multi-unit franchise agreement will help us continue to generate interest throughout Canada and open many doors for our brand once the community has their first bite of a warm donut from Duck Donuts.”
“As long-time Burlington residents, it is an honor to open our first Duck Donuts location in the community we have been a part of for more than 20 years,” said Stuart Reid.
“We look forward to welcoming guests through our doors and introducing them to warm, delicious and made-to-order donuts this brand is known for.”
The new location will participate in the Quack Back program which sees proceeds of all sales of rubber ducks during the grand opening weekend donated to Community Living Burlington.
