The international donut franchisor is doubling-down on strategic growth.
Duck Donuts has announced that Dwayne Hoffman will be the brand’s vice president of franchise development; an entirely new role created in light of the Duck Donuts’ pivot toward strategic, aggressive franchise growth.
Hoffman will oversee franchise sales and real estate activity related to the development of Duck Donuts locations, and will report to Betsy Hamm, chief operating officer for Duck Donuts Franchising Company.
“We are excited to have Dwayne join our franchise development team as we continue to focus on strategically moving forward as a national brand, entering new markets and backfilling in existing,” said Hamm. “His extensive expertise will play an integral role as we strive to transition from an emerging to a well-known established franchise brand across the country.”
Hoffman joins the brand with more than 25 years of experience working in the food and beverage industry, previously being instrumental in the growth of international names like Nathan’s Famous and Starbucks.
The appointment of Hoffman to this new role builds on the Duck Donuts shift from an organic to a strategic growth model. The brand is looking at an aggressive approach of selling new units domestically and internationally, with 97 locations currently open and a further 145 in the pipeline, scheduled for 26 states and three countries.
