Coolgreens eliminates franchisee royalty fees

Coolgreens, the U.S.-based healthy eatery franchise, is eliminating franchisee royalty fees for the foreseeable future as a way of helping its franchise network navigate through these turbulent times. Typically, these fees would consist of five per cent of a location’s gross sales.

“The restaurant industry is navigating an unprecedented time right now, and it is imperative that our franchisees and communities know we are doing our best to help them however we can,” said Robert Lee, CEO. “We are talking to our franchisees daily, sharing best practices and ideas on how to continue supporting our communities, team members and guests.”

In addition, Coolgreens recently ran its ‘Salads of Hope’ charity initiative, which ensured that for every salad purchased through April 12, the brand would donate a salad to a local hospital in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. So far, Coolgreens has donated more than 1,200 salads to feed front-line workers.

Saladworks unveils ‘Fives for Lives’ campaign

Saladworks has launched its ‘Fives for Lives’ charity campaign, which will see healthcare workers and first-line responders at local hospitals receive free Saladworks meals, following a donation from any Saladworks guest.

By contributing $5, guests will have their donation matched with a free meal on behalf of Saladworks, sent directly to a local hospital.

“First responders make up a great deal of our guests and have always been a bright spot in our Saladworks community,” said Cheri BonVardo, a Saladworks franchisee in Clementon, NJ. “When this pandemic struck, providing them with free meals for their service to our city and loyalty to our business felt like the right thing to do.”
