The Glasgow-based doner kebab specialist is expanding to a third location after two successful locations in Ottawa and Surrey.
German Doner Kebab is set to open in Toronto at 246 Queen Street W with a 40-seat capacity flagship location and bringing 30 jobs to the local area. Famous for creating your kebab in front of your eyes, German Doner Kebab has partnered up with local businessman Usman Ali, who has significant experience in the industry with his family business, managing eight Popeyes and four Dairy Queen sites with over 300 employees.
He said: “German Doner Kebab has a unique space in the fast-casual brand restaurant sector and we are very excited to announce plans that we will open a flagship site in Downtown Toronto. The location doesn’t get any better, it’s in the heart of downtown. Period. This amazing location will enable German Doner Kebab to bring its unique experience to the people of Toronto.”
Usman added: “German Doner Kebab brings a compelling customer experience and a strong product. The experience of its leadership team is unrivaled too and we are looking forward to working closely with them to open in Downtown Toronto and developing our pipeline into the Toronto area.”
This is a part of an expansive move to open a hundred stores in the next decade in Canada.

Plans for expansion and growth have been supercharged by the appointment of Michael Bruno as its new franchise recruitment director who brings over 25 years of experience of leading growth and expansion in this region to German Doner Kebab.
