The U.S. personal training brand’s first U.K.-based franchisee locations are in Brighton, East Sussex and Kingston, London.
Building on its international footprint and following the boom in at-home training over recent months, the franchise has officially launched in the U.K., bringing mobile personal training directly to clients’ homes to help them get fit.
“Owning a GYMGUYZ franchise is a job to be excited about and you can be up and running in just eight weeks,” said GYMGUYZ U.K. managing director Laike Mantori. “GYMGUYZ is taking a firm foothold in the market and with the vast number of enquiries we are having, we’re looking forward to continuing our journey across the country.”
Launched in 2008, GYMGUYZ’s at-home personal training concept has seen it grow exponentially in the United States, with over 230 franchises across 29 states.
“As we see a growth in the popularity of people training outside and at home, GYMGUYZ is the ideal fitness provider to allow people to continue to train where they feel comfortable, we take pride in providing convenient, customized and creative workouts,” said Mantori.
The U.K. has seen a 10 per cent increase in adults meeting the recommended levels of physical activity since the imposed lockdown in March, according to a study conducted by Anglia Ruskin University. The figure is now around 75 per cent of adults getting at least 150 minutes of physical activity per week, which shows that the general public is recognizing the importance of exercise.
“GYMGUYZ takes away the need to be in a gym environment, brings the equipment and provides the flexibility of training whenever and wherever clients want,” explains Mantori. “This is a real USP for GYMGUYZ and following the success we’ve experienced in the U.S., we’re confident that GYMGUYZ will provide a compelling alternative to traditional fitness franchises, backed by its unique model and low minimum investment.”
As part of the start-up process, each GYMGUYZ franchise owner is assigned a franchise support team to provide guidance throughout the start-up and launch process. This includes everything from coordinating van ordering and delivery to purchasing equipment, scheduling meetings, and guiding the franchise owner through the launch event.
