IFA President Robert Cresanti has this message for franchisees affected by the recent hurricanes Harvey and Irma:
“As many parts of the American Southeast and Caribbean continue to recover from recent hurricanes, countless stories are emerging of franchises giving back during these trying times. These stories truly demonstrate the passion and resilience of the franchise community and the impact we have on our communities – the spirit of Franchising Gives Back. If you have a story of lending support, please email Gionne Jones in IFA’s Franchise Education & Research Foundation.
Recognizing that many local franchise owners and their employees are still in need of help, we want to make you aware of resources to get or give assistance. Most are aware of FEMA’s resources to help those affected, but many are not aware that the U.S. Small Business Administration is providing disaster loans and business counseling for people and businesses affected by Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey.
If you or your franchisees in affected areas want to contact your elected officials for help, please email us at advocacy@franchise.org and the IFA will assist you in making a direct connection with the appropriate office. To donate or volunteer, consult the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster’s How To Help page. IFA’s thoughts and prayers remain with IFA members in the affected areas.”
