One of the world’s favorite family-focused restaurant franchises has big plans for American growth as part of a new franchise development agreement.
IHOP Restaurants recently announced an agreement with TravelCenters of America (TA), that will see 94 new IHOP locations open over the next five years in TA locations across the U.S. There are currently four IHOP restaurants already in TA’s travel center network, with the most recent being opened in Jackson, Georgia.
The agreement is the single largest development deal in IHOP’s 61-year history, and guests visiting any of the TA locations will be able to order anything from IHOP’s full menu of made-to-order items.
Jay Johns, president of IHOP, said of the agreement: “The TA brand, a trusted hospitality leader in the industry and with customers, shares the same values as IHOP when it comes to delivering an outstanding customer experience to guests on-the-go. We’re looking forward to serving the great-tasting, freshly made menu items we’re known for at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, to the millions of guests who stop at TA and Petro locations each year.”
Barry Richards, president and COO of TA, shared the sentiment: “Adding such a highly regarded brand like IHOP to our restaurant group shows our commitment to bringing the best possible dining options to both professional drivers while they’re away from home, and to local families living in the communities we serve. An important part of our restaurant strategy is focusing on growing our partnerships with trusted brands like IHOP that appeal to broad audiences, and today’s agreement will enable us to accelerate that process.”
This agreement will help to accelerate IHOP’s aggressive growth, which has seen more than 1,700 IHOP restaurants open in the U.S., with more than 100 locations internationally.
