The Spanish fashion retail franchise plans to open 10 stores before 2021.
Mango, the Spanish fashion retail franchise with almost 200 stores in 15 global markets, plans to open 10 new locations in India with master franchisee Myntra before the end of the year, Fashion United reports.
The first of these new locations will take place in the Infinity Mall shopping center in Mumbai, with other stores to be located in the cities of Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Delhi. In total, Mango will have 29 stores across India, which makes the country the second-largest presence for the brand behind China.
“It is excellent news that the expansion plan we announced in 2017 is being implemented successfully,” said Daniel Lopez, director of expansion and franchises at Mango. “Myntra is an ideal partner for us, since it has the capacity and the expertise to develop an excellent omnichannel strategy in India, one of the markets with the greatest potential in the world. I am convinced that we will continue to grow in India working alongside Myntra in the coming years.”
Mango’s partnership with Myntra began in 2014, when the fashion brand began selling its clothing on Myntra’s online platform. In 2017, Mango announced it would intensify its partnership with Myntra, and the master franchisee has since launched a selection of brick-and-mortar stores across India.
“At Myntra, technology has been key in enabling us to offer a world-class experience to our consumers,” said Vishal Anand, senior director and head of offline at Myntra. “Our strategic partnership with Mango has given impetus to our efforts for the brand on the back of omnichannel technology. Mango’s expanding presence in India will give us additional opportunities of collaboration and delivering fashion to customers across the nation.”
