To continue the education franchise brand’s continual growth, Mathnasium has enlisted the help of some industry trend-setters.
It was only recently that Mathnasium celebrated an impressive milestone, with over 1,000 having opened in North America. This followed the previous news of the brand passing 1,000 locations internationally, which occurred back in March.
Well, to keep up with this unstoppable success, the education franchisor has recently added to its senior management team with two new hires that are set to sculpt the future of the Mathnasium organization.
First is Vane Lucas, SVP, learning center systems, who will oversee education, technology, training, general business systems, and new services. His experience with Mathnasium dates back to 2009, when Lucas became a franchisee after careers in engineering, strategy consulting, and retail banking. Along with his wife, Ginger, Lucas developed seven Mathnasium Learning Centers in Tulsa and Kansas City.
“Math education is so important, and there’s just a tremendous need to supplement what kids are learning in class,” said Lucas. “By relocating to the home office, I can now help more than a hundred thousand kids each week benefit from an extra tutor in math.”
Mr. Lucas is joined by Bob Kaufman, SVP, North American franchise operations, who will oversee Mathnasium Learning Centers across the U.S. and Canada. Kaufman is a veteran in franchising, with more than 20 years’ experience. He spearheaded global franchise development for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and has also served as SVP of business development and franchising for Tower Records.
“I am thrilled to join forces with Mathnasium at this pivotal moment in its history,” said Kaufman. “It’s great to be a part of a company with heart and a vision for empowering children, and improving their future. I’m looking forward to helping reach even more students.”
