As part of an ongoing global takeover, Potato Corner has entered the Canadian market with its inaugural Alberta location.
Launching in the Philippines in 1992, Potato Corner is a beloved brand that fast-casual snack junkies will instantly recognize. Delivering the “world’s best flavored fries” to countless customers worldwide, its tasty selection of barbeque, cheese, sour cream, or chilli barbeque fries can now be enjoyed in yet another country, as the brand adds Canada to its hefty portfolio.
The new store located in West Edmonton Mall in Alberta, Canada, opened on September 28th, after much fanfare and a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the 27th. The potato brand’s international growth began in 2006, when Potato Corner launched its first Indonesian store after growing rapidly throughout the Philippines. The next huge milestone was in 2012, when Potato Corner entered the U.S.
By 2019, the brand is available in the Philippines, Panama, Australia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Singapore, Vietnam, the U.S., and now Canada.
The brand has been franchised in Canada by Filippino-Canadian entrepreneur Nelson Rodriguez, who plans to open 15 stores throughout the country within the next three years.
