In this position, Cresanti will bring his extensive franchising experience to the haircut franchisor’s ongoing strategies.
Sport Clips Haircuts has announced the addition of previous president and CEO of the International Franchise Association, Robert Cresanti, to its board of directors.
“Robert has been a friend to Sport Clips and a tireless advocate for the franchise business model; an industry that employs nearly 8.3 million and provides local business ownership for thousands of others,” said Edward Logan, Sport Clips president and CEO.
“Our founder, Gordon Logan, worked with and in support of Robert during his tenure at the IFA through efforts for franchising as a business model on Capitol Hill and as an IFA and IFA Foundation Board Member and VetFran chairman.
“Having Robert on the board strengthens our franchisee relationships and opportunities as well as the support we provide to more than 18,000 Sport Clips team members.”
Cresanti announced his retirement from the IFA back in November 2020, and he departed from the organization on March 31, 2021. He also joined us on The Global Franchise Podcast last year, to discuss what the IFA was doing to support franchisees and franchisors throughout the pandemic.
Throughout his career in the franchise industry, Cresanti has been an advisor to three U.S. presidents, and received unanimous confirmation by the U.S. Senate as undersecretary of commerce for technology before later being appointed as the most senior chief privacy officer in the Federal Government.
“As the CEO of the International Franchise Association the number one question that was asked of me was ‘which franchise should I buy?’ I always said the same thing in response, finding truly great people as your franchisor is the best way to go,” said Cresanti. “So, I am so deeply honored to be able to work with Edward and Gordon in service of their amazing franchisees.”
Sport Clips Haircuts was founded in 1993 and has more than 1,800 locations in the U.S. and Canada. It was the first haircare franchise to have locations in all 50 states.
