The gourmet burger franchisor is building on its partnership, first launched in 2018.
Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews has announced an expansion of its partnership with Donatos Pizza, with plans to add Donatos’ offering to approximately 120 more Red Robin locations in 2021; resulting in a total of more than 200 locations.
Donatos Pizza partnered with Red Robin in June 2018, to begin offering its pizzas as part of Red Robin’s menu. Both brands have experienced great success off the back of this partnership, which has contributed to this aggressive growth plan.
“Our continued market rollout featuring Donatos pizza as yet another family-friendly menu offering has been well-received by guests,” said Jonathan Muhtar, Red Robin executive vice president & chief concept officer. “Our Donatos locations consistently out-perform our non-pizza restaurants and we continue to be pleased with sales in our newest markets.”
In Q1 of 2021, 41 Red Robin locations rolled out Donatos’ offering, including six new states for the brand: Idaho, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. The partnership will expand to several East Coast Red Robin restaurants in Maryland and Virginia in Q3, followed by a California expansion through the back half of the year.
In total, Red Robin operates more than 540 locations across the U.S. and Canada.
