The “better chicken” brand shows no sign of stopping, with the first location from a multi-unit Florida agreement opening in the coming months.
Slim Chickens has seen nothing but exponential growth as of late, with the brand opening its 100th location at the end of 2019. This momentum is set to continue, as Slim Chickens announced it would be opening its first location in Florida in the spring. This new site comes out of a recent 10-unit franchise agreement covering the Florida Panhandle, and a further location will be coming to the Callaway area, soon.
The agreement was made in conjunction with a group of experienced multi-unit fast-food franchisees, consisting of Chris and Amy McMillan, Richard Maddox, Adam Cantrell, and Becky Retherford.
“Slim Chickens has incredible momentum behind it – the brand is red hot,” said Chris McMillan. “We truly believe in Slim Chickens and are thrilled to show new customers in Florida what the excitement is all about. With its touch of southern hospitality and broad menu, we know it’s going to be a hit.”
Slim Chickens has ambitions well beyond the States, having recently developed across the U.K. and Kuwait. The brand currently has 350 restaurants in development, and plans to grow to 600 units in 10 years – a goal to be realized though strategic partnerships with franchisees like the McMillans and their business partners.
“The McMillans and their business partners are exactly the kind of franchisees we’re seeking as we expand into new markets,” said Jackie Lobdell, executive director of franchise development at Slim Chickens. “Their professional background in restaurant operations, coupled with their local business expertise, are what we look for as we sign franchisees across the country.”
