Smoothie King appoints new chief development officer

Chris Bremer has been brought on board to help lead the smoothie brand’s expansion efforts

Smoothie King has announced the appointment of Chris Bremer as its new chief development officer. In his new role with the smoothie brand, Bremer will implement strategies to meet rapid expansion targets, and oversee the franchise development, real estate, design, and construction departments. This new addition comes at a time when the brand has announced numerous agreements to expand throughout the Upper Midwest and Central Atlantic regions.

“We are thrilled to welcome Chris Bremer to our executive leadership team,” said Wan Kim, CEO of Smoothie King.

“Chris is an exemplary, purposeful leader, possessing a passion for leading teams in the food & beverage and hospitality industries and will undoubtedly make invaluable contributions to our rapidly-growing franchise system.”

Bremer spent six years with TGI Friday’s as a development direction in the Asia-Pacific region. From 2006 to 2017, he was the global franchise development director at Brinker International, helping the brand expand from 90 locations to over 400 in 38 countries.

He worked directly with franchisees to create strategies and plans to impact revenue and profits. Since 2017, Bremer served as the chief development officer at Nothing Bundt Cakes. He led the development team to double the size of the brand, which drove its sale to private equity.
