The international smoothie franchisor is celebrating this milestone with a free smoothie campaign, and a donation to its charity partner.
Smoothie King recently opened its 1,000th domestic U.S. location, bringing its international portfolio to more than 1,300 total units.
This news comes after a particularly developmental 2020, in which the franchisor opened a record 263 new locations globally, and closed out the second half of the year with a 12.2 per cent increase in comparable sales.
The brand shows no signs of slowing down this year, with 110 new domestic stores expected to open before the end of 2021 in key markets such as Cleveland, Michigan, Northern Virginia, and its first stores in Rio Grande Valley.
To celebrate passing 1,000 domestic locations, Smoothie King is giving away 1,000 free smoothies to customers who can identify a temporary error located on the brand’s ‘Our Story’ page of its website.
It also plans to donate $1 from every smoothie purchased in-store or online on April 6 from 8:00 until 10:00 am to the Challenged Athletes Foundation – a cause that provides opportunities and support to people with physical challenges so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics.
