• How did Flip Out begin?
Flip Out began when I saw a gap in the market. I was waiting for my son at a soft play centre when I realised half the people in the room weren’t allowed to take part. I wanted to create something that took those barriers away, something everyone could join in, and everyone could have fun doing.
Why do you think it has become so successful?
I think when you are passionate and driven, you can make smart choices to become successful. We choose carefully who we work with, so the team is focused and ambitious, constantly pushing the boundaries and looking forward.
What is different about Flip Out and other, similar parks?
We have our own manufacturing facilities based in Europe, our supply chain is both innovative and efficient and allows us so much more flexibility in terms of both the offering and the high level of safety. Our mixed-use arenas incorporate not just trampolines but Parkour equipment, Ninja courses, climbing walls and other bespoke elements unique to Flip Out that help us appeal to audiences from 2 to 80+. We don’t follow, we create.
What advice would you give to franchisees?
Don’t be scared to take a calculated risk. Make sure you 100% trust the people you are working with and don’t settle for second best.
What’s a ‘typical’ day like for you?
One of the best things about what I do is the variety. There is no such thing as a typical day for me. One day I could be talking to a room full of potential investors, the next I could be being filmed jumping at one of our arenas, then heading to a tasting for our new energy drink before the first products are released.
What is your favourite part of the job?
Definitely coming up with new ideas for Flip Out. Innovation and adventurous spirit are at the heart of our business and keep customers engaged and coming back, time and time again.
What does the future hold?
