The international sandwich franchisor opens thousands of positions during a time of record unemployment.
To combat the unprecedented impact that COVID-19 has had on employment throughout the U.S., Subway Restaurants has announced its local franchisees will seek to hire 50,000 new team members. Starting this summer, many new job opportunities will be available, ranging from entry-level to management positions.
“As our business continues to see a growing demand for our value offerings, curbside pick-up and delivery, we are happy to support such a large-scale employment opportunity to meet the demands of our guests,” said Aidan Hay, Subway VP of operations for North America. “We’ve been fortunate that a majority of Subway restaurants remained open the past few months and are so appreciative to the franchise owners and their employees who have made that possible. For existing and new employees, it is important to us that each one feel valued and safe when working in our restaurants.”
New employees can feel safe in the knowledge that Subway is committed to ongoing procedures to ensure its team members and customers are kept safe during the ongoing pandemic. Measures already taken include the closure of dining rooms, working with third-party partners to ensure contactless delivery, and providing ample PPE for its restaurant staff.
