Five satellite sites will open in July, with a main center coming in September.
Sylvan Learning, a multi-disciplinary education franchise with 750 points of presence around the world, has announced expansion into Turkey with five satellite locations offering STEM classes set to open this July. These will be followed by a main center in Istanbul, slated to launch in September.
These new sites come as part of an exclusive partnership between Sylvan Learning and local entrepreneurs Ceylan Duru, and her sister Gonca.
“Not only does Sylvan offer a strong program that supports professional private tutoring, there aren’t any education centers here that are licensed in the U.S., so there’s really no competition,” Ceylan said. “We’re really excited to be the first to offer this program here in Turkey.”
While the first five satellite sites will offer STEM education for children aged six to 13, the full Sylvan offering caters to students up to 18 years old, and includes reading, writing, math, SAT and ACT prep, study skills and advanced reading.
“The goal is to give them a good education in English with native English speaking teachers who are trained by Sylvan to teach STEM the way it should be taught,” Ceylan said. “That allows us to offer a very advanced outcome and increased opportunities for our students.”
“We’re confident that students in Turkey will benefit from Sylvan Learning’s inclusive, personalized learning environment under the leadership of Ceylan and Gonca,” said Sylvan Learning Center CEO, John McAuliffe. “By fostering a love of learning, Sylvan and its partners around the world help children reach their full potential.”
