The Halal Guys, the fast-casual American restaurant brand that only carries halal meat, has marked the opening its 100th store in Pittsburgh.
The brand was discovered by Dan Rowe, the CEO of the restaurant development company Fransmart, when it was a single cart in Manhattan. With Rowe and Fransmart’s guidance and a franchising program that started in 2014, the brand has grown internationally and built sites in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Indonesia and South Korea. Within the U.S., the brand expects to open in North Carolina, Missouri and Ohio.
“We are so grateful to reach this historic milestone as a business. From a food cart on the streets of New York City to an international franchise, we would not be here without the support of our first fans and customers. We thrive off growth and innovation and are excited to see what comes next,” said Ahmed Abouelenein, CEO of The Halal Guys.
The Halal Guys brand is the largest concept of its kind in the world, that only serves halal-slaughtered meat.
“It’s really been a dream to be part of growing the largest Middle Eastern chain in the world,” said Rowe.
“The food and the story of The Halal Guys are both amazing. It’s truly the American Dream story brought to life and I’m lucky to be a part of it. The Halal Guys is, and will continue to be the largest, fastest and most dominant halal restaurant brand in the world all thanks to our amazing teams and customers.”
The Halal Guys is continuing its international expansion efforts, and wants to dominate the halal market in the U.S., U.K., and the Middle East.
