The New York-founded operation will open in Aurora, just outside of Denver.
The Halal Guys, an American halal street food franchise with 90 locations across the U.S., Canada, Indonesia, South Korea, and the U.K., has signed its first agreement in Colorado.
Franchisees Chris Bui and Kevin Than are co-owners of the new location, which is situated in Aurora, just outside of Denver. The 2,100-square-foot site is one of the brand’s first franchise locations to debut its new restaurant design, in collaboration with Rubber & Road Creative. This design incorporates elements of the original New York street cart.
“The Halal Guys is more than just a quick-service restaurant: our experience and flavor-packed menu is unlike any other,” said Than. “We’re excited to bring the concept to our hometown and appreciate all of the support that the community has already shown us.”
For Bui and Than, this is the first of many locations they plan to bring to the Colorado market, with developments stretching from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs.
“This iconic brand is positioned for success in any market, thanks to its authentic flavors and devoted fan base,” said Dan Rowe, CEO of Fransmart, the franchising partner for the brand. “The Halal Guys is growing at a rapid pace, and savvy franchisees like Chris and Kevin understand the incredible opportunity of bringing this worldwide phenomenon to communities like Denver that will appreciate and embrace it.”
The Halal Guys has multiple units in development, and plans to expand to 400 sites over the next several years. To achieve this, the brand is looking to partner with experienced multi-unit franchisees – something that CEO Ahmed Abouelenein went into detail on when he joined the Global Franchise Podcast at the end of last year.
