The Florida-based Tex-Mex concept is looking to utilize franchising for brand expansion.
After a 13-year hiatus from the model, Tex-Mex franchise brand Tijuana Flats has announced its return to franchising as it plans aggressive national expansion.
Primarily based in the Southeast with locations across Florida, Virginia, and North Carolina, Tijuana Flats plans to target the eastern U.S. as well as Texas.
“Founded in Orlando, FL, Tijuana Flats has primarily been a Florida brand for 25 years, with its bold flavors and broad appeal we believe this brand could be very successful on a national level,” said Eric Taylor, vice president of development.
“We would really like to see Tijuana Flats grow to its full potential. It’s a strong brand that has been mostly corporately owned for all of these years, but we feel like with franchising that we can grow the brand the right way.”
