The fitness franchisor has debuted several of its brands in this exciting, untapped region.
Xponential Fitness, the franchisor of eight international fitness brands, has opened its first five studios in Saudi Arabia off the back of a recent master franchise agreement signed last summer.
The new locations represent Club Pilates, Pure Barre, CycleBar, YogaSix, and AKT, and are the first of more than 50 studios coming to the country over the next few years.
These openings are particularly significant, as they come after considerable reforms in Saudi Arabia have now allowed women to exercise and keep fit.
“These openings are not only a huge step forward for Xponential Fitness and its brands, but a cultural milestone in Saudi Arabia as we introduce its citizens to the exhilarating world of boutique fitness,” said John Kersh, chief international development officer for Xponential Fitness. “Notably, Xponential Fitness is excited to bring the benefits of boutique fitness to the women of Saudi Arabia, who are now able to pursue and embrace a lifestyle of health and wellness, which is a new development. We expect this will be one of hundreds more successful international openings for our brands.”
The initial run of Xponential studios are located in state-of-the-art EVOX Clubs in Riyadh, which have been designed to house separate facilities for men and women. The EVOX openings mark the first collaboration between Xponential Fitness and Ezdihar Sports, one of the portfolio businesses of the Fawaz Abdulaziz Alhokair Company; the operator of more than 1,700 cinemas, F&B locations, construction businesses, and fashion retail outlets across the Middle East.
Recently, Xponential Fitness has signed deals to open studios in 11 countries, including Germany, Australia, South Korea, and Austria. This increases the group’s footprint to four continents, and as of August 31, 2020, Xponential owned over 1,600 studios across its eight brands.
